Dear 5D,
Finally, it's about time we had to say goodbye to each other, to someone we were angry with, to someone we were dissatisfied with, to someone we forgave, to someone we got to know eventually, to someone we placed high hope on, to someone we felt disappointed with, to someone we felt amazed, to someone we all love ...
As we will be pretty busy even in the last few days and I am not the type of person who is good at expressing feelings, let me say goodbye and good luck to all of you here ! I of course will miss you all !
Kit Lam looks sleepy all the times but your determination is still glaring.
Man Fong is surely a success if you can be more confident and careful.
Wing Yan could do much better if you could find out your target(s) asap.
Julie is a smart girl who should find out what you are really lacking and
weak at, besides working harder and harder.
Shuk Ting should try to focus on your weaknesses and get rid of them asap;
also, you have to try to explore some useful short-cuts for the coming
months.
Joycelyn needs to spot your strengths and weaknesses and be more confident in your potentials.
Mei Ting is a role model who grabs and makes use of what have been learnt. Yet, organize faster, write faster and you will be the winner !
Tsz Wing is a strong figure but you haven't spent most of your time on your academic work. Be target-oriented and see what you can improve in 2 months.
Ka Wai looks self-reliant but you are still a little girl who should further explore your potentials. Find out the skills you are lacking and polish up what you are weak at !
What does Lai Chu need, a girl who is highly self-disciplined ? Psychologically, be more confident and you will tackle the papers in a smarter way. Practically, spot what you are not confident in and try different skills until you find the best ones for the exam. Do more past papers and you will gain more confidence in yourself !

A belated sharing ~~ Giuliani's Quotations : Part II - Do What's Possible, Try What's Not
In Giuliani's second quotation, "Do what's possible" is a positive attitude we should have and "Try what's not (possible)" is what makes our life even better !
First, let's discuss what's possible ! Can you manage your time better ? Can you monitor your leisure time better by not spending too much time on the net or watching TV ? Can you go home earlier and start working on what you should finish within the day immediately ? Can you say "no" to any distractions like phone calls or on-line games/movies when you have lots of work to catch up ? As a Form 4/5 student who should be self-disciplined and target-oriented, what we mentioned above are ALL POSSIBLE, right ?
If you have passed Level One, here comes the challenge : Try what's not possible ! Can you imagine spending a few hours on revisions even after finishing your assignments ? Can you stand going to the self-study centre/library even on holidays while others are enjoying their good times hanging out with their friends ? Can you sacrifice your time for piles of mechanical practices and past papers ? Try your ability and potential and you may find that nothing is impossible !

Giuliani's Quotations (Part I) : Who and Why is Rudolph W. Giuliani ?
(I am sharing the series with both 4D and 5D XD ! Hope you can benefit somehow.)
Rudolph W. Giuliani served as the mayor of New York City from 1994 to 2001. Yes, it was September 11 of year 2001 which unveiled Giuliani's leadership to the whole world ! His role in leading New York in facing the terrorist attacks before and after the disasters won him both praises and criticisms.
Here, I am not going to discuss the 911 issue but the interesting and inspirational quotations in Giuliani's book Leadership which I have been going over again these days. His short quotations are worth sharing and learning for those who want to be good leaders as well as people who simply attempt to excel in different areas. Let's learn some of them together and of course, try to put them into practice !
FIRST THING FIRST
This 3-word phrase is what your parents and teachers have been reminding you of since you were small. In Chinese, it is like "We should do something which has to be done today within today." An English poet Edward Young got another famous quote you may have heard of, "Procrastination is the thief of time."
Being students, what come first every day ? They are doing homework, revising what you have learnt and practising to make perect. Finishing them, you are free to do anything like reading newspaper, watching news, reading books, doing household chores for your parents and so on. As the NY Mayor, Giuliani liked having morning meetings with his staff as he thought identifying and addressing the problems early in the morning, he would tackle them early.
Go and find out what matter to you and deal with them as early as you can every day. You will find that life is not that boring and studying is no longer a burden as you have spent your time wisely achieving something siginificant every day and, there is still time left for your favourite pastime !

What have we learnt ?
Dear 5D,
Being a "professional" teacher, I did make a mistake by wasting 2 lessons and losing my temper in front of my students; yet, being your friend and someone who really hopes that you'll have no regret the moment you get your HKCEE result slips, I do hope it was a good lesson for both of us !
I should be firmer and tougher when it comes to our teaching and learning ! Some of you said I had become nicer recently. It sounds good as it shows that our relationship is becoming better but it could also be bad if there is a class in which some students get out of control easily. If I really love your class, I should be the one who takes the lead, instead of giving way !
What have you learnt ? Time is running out and the challenge is waiting ahead ! Everyone, of course, has your own plan and preference but it is your duty to respect other people (i.e. your teachers and your classmates)! BTW, have you really made up your mind ? I do believe that no matter what your future plan is, certain level of academic qualification must help you in different ways. The smartest people will have themselves well-prepared for different challenges as well as situations.
As I just said to 4D, everyone should work hard, play hard ! One more especially to 5D : no regret !

Except + Verb
Hi 5D,
Hope the explanation below can help you :
Except + verb
A verb form after except usually depends on what came before. Infinitives are normally without to.
e.g. He does nothing except sleep all day. (does+sleep)
e.g. She is not interested in anything except cooking. (be --> interested in+cooking)
