Giuliani's Quotations (Part I) : Who and Why is Rudolph W. Giuliani ?

(I am sharing the series with both 4D and 5D XD ! Hope you can benefit somehow.)

Rudolph W. Giuliani served as the mayor of New York City from 1994 to 2001. Yes, it was September 11 of year 2001 which unveiled Giuliani's leadership to the whole world ! His role in leading New York in facing the terrorist attacks before and after the disasters won him both praises and criticisms.

Here, I am not going to discuss the 911 issue but the interesting and inspirational quotations in Giuliani's book Leadership which I have been going over again these days. His short quotations are worth sharing and learning for those who want to be good leaders as well as people who simply attempt to excel in different areas. Let's learn some of them together and of course, try to put them into practice !

FIRST THING FIRST
This 3-word phrase is what your parents and teachers have been reminding you of since you were small. In Chinese, it is like "We should do something which has to be done today within today." An English poet Edward Young got another famous quote you may have heard of, "Procrastination is the thief of time."

Being students, what come first every day ? They are doing homework, revising what you have learnt and practising to make perect. Finishing them, you are free to do anything like reading newspaper, watching news, reading books, doing household chores for your parents and so on. As the NY Mayor, Giuliani liked having morning meetings with his staff as he thought identifying and addressing the problems early in the morning, he would tackle them early.

Go and find out what matter to you and deal with them as early as you can every day. You will find that life is not that boring and studying is no longer a burden as you have spent your time wisely achieving something siginificant every day and, there is still time left for your favourite pastime !

Love,

  1. Haha... Well, 911 is my birthday...
Finish the thing as soon as possible??
    Seems crazy@@
A tower of homework and text books can kill us...
Maybe we could only try our best then...

  2. Sound sensible but helpless ... anyway, the crux of the quote is to ask people to set priority or you'll find everything unfinished at the end and you'll have no satisfaction ! What matters to you at the moment ?

  3. Of course I put the studying at the first priority now.
But I still got some other problems.
These cannot be solve until the CE is over.
But I think I can handle them to not affect me in CE.
Satisfaction never ends in humans' life.
